Choose your notifications and quiet hours
Set up delivery methods, choose which updates you receive, and adjust their timing.
For everyone
These steps use the Beacon website unless the iPhone app is mentioned.
In this guide
Choose where updates should go
On the website, open Settings → Notifications. Under Delivery methods, add an email address or phone number and complete the verification requested on screen.
When available, Use account email or Use login phone saves you from entering a contact again. Reusing your login phone asks for your account password. Check the delivery method’s verification status after adding it.
Your login security phone and optional notification choices are separate. Having a phone saved for sign-in does not, by itself, mean you have enabled every type of text update.
Choose the updates you want
In Event preferences, review the available channels for each kind of update: in-app, email, SMS, and push. Select your preferences, then choose Save Preferences. Some events do not support every channel, and required in-app notices stay on.
These account preferences sync across the website and iOS. Push notifications go to registered iOS devices; you need to allow notifications in the iOS app first. Enabling the Push column on the website alone does not grant that device permission.
Set quiet hours and serving reminders
Under When notifications arrive, turn on Pause optional notifications overnight if you want quiet hours. Set a start and end time and check the timezone shown. Beacon holds optional email, text, and push updates until quiet hours end. Required account security messages can still arrive.
For serving reminders, you can use your organization’s timing, choose your own reminder times, or select No serving reminders. Turning off serving reminders still allows schedule changes and other enabled updates.
Choose Save timing after making changes. If your device moves to another timezone, Beacon asks before changing the quiet-hours timezone.
If an update did not arrive
Check the delivery method is verified, the relevant event’s channel is enabled, and your changes were saved. Then check whether quiet hours are delaying delivery. For email, check your spam folder; for iOS push, check the device’s notification permission too.
If the issue continues, contact support with the kind of update, the channel you expected, and roughly when it should have arrived. You do not need to include private message content.
