Find a place to volunteer
Browse open roles, check what they involve, and choose a serving time that works for you.
For volunteers
These steps use the Beacon website unless the iPhone app is mentioned.

Start with your group
You don't have to wait for someone to send you an assignment. When your group has opened roles for volunteers, you can browse them and choose one that fits.
- Open Groups and choose the group you want to serve with.
- Open Opportunities. You may also see a serving opportunities link on your home page.
- Search by role, activity, or location. Use the filters to narrow the dates or see roles you can sign up for.
- Open a role to read its description, serving time, location, and any qualifications it needs.
If the list is empty, clear your filters first. Your group may simply have no open roles right now. A leader can help you find out when the next schedule will be ready.
Review the details before you commit
Check the role's own start and end times. They may include setup or cleanup outside the main event.
The action tells you what happens next. Volunteer starts a signup for that role; Request to volunteer sends it for leader approval. Follow the review steps and read the result before assuming you're scheduled.
A Request pending label means a leader still needs to review it. On your schedule means you can find the commitment in My Schedule. Some roles are invitation only, need a qualification, or conflict with another commitment. Open the role to see the reason.
