Find a sponsor through your network
Start with your network’s intake form, then follow your connection request in Beacon.
For sponsees
These steps use the Beacon website unless the iPhone app is mentioned.
In this guide
Start with your network’s link
Use the sponsee intake link your ministry or sponsorship network gave you. If you open the general intake page, you will need the network’s referral code. That code tells Beacon which network should receive your submission and which questions to show.
If you do not have a link or code, ask your local leader for it. Using a different network’s code will not help your own team find your intake.
Tell the team what kind of support fits
- Read the introduction and choose Acknowledge & Continue.
- Check the network name. Enter your referral code if needed, then choose Load intake form.
- Answer the questions as honestly as you can. The questions come from your network, so someone at another ministry may see a different form.
- Choose Submit Intake and keep the page open until you see the completion message.
After submitting, you can choose text updates and decide whether to create an account. Those steps are optional; your intake has already been submitted when the completion page appears.
What happens next
Beacon begins the matching process using your answers and the sponsors eligible in your network. A completed intake does not mean a sponsor has accepted yet.
Once your profile is linked to your account, open Connection requests to see any request and its status. A pending request is still waiting for a response. When a sponsor accepts and a conversation is available, you can continue in Messages.
You do not need to submit another intake just because a request is taking time. Your network’s team can check the existing submission and explain the next step.
If you are still waiting
First, check that your account is linked to the intake you submitted. In Me, look for a prompt to finish linking your profile. If your profile is linked but no request appears, contact your network’s leader and mention when you submitted it.
Available sponsors and network requirements can affect matching. For a page that will not load or a form that will not submit, use Message the team and include the page and any error message.
